It works with the low-angled windshield to channel air efficiently over the roof and reduce noise. The wide grille opening and rounded wheel arches are aerodynamically functional as well, and high approach, break-over and departure angles enhance all-terrain capability for climbing hills and clearing obstacles. Versatility is a big reason people drive pickup trucks, and the ranger has two options. The SuperCab provides seating for two upfront with bucket seats and two in the rear with the bench seat, which includes under-seat storage. Then there’s the more spacious and comfortable SuperCrew with the conveniences of four full-size doors, seating for up to five and rear under-seat storage. The SuperCab comes with a 6-ft. bed, while the SuperCrew has a 5-ft. bed. The Ranger interior emphasizes style, function and comfort. This truck’s 2.3L EcoBoost engine is designed to maximize pulse energy for optimum responsiveness, offering 310 lb.-ft. of torque and 270 horsepower. Paired with the 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, the Ranger is tough, capable and ready for fun. This baby also delivers an impressive 7,500 lb. tow rating and a maximum 1,860-lb. payload. Shifting into four-wheel drive is as easy as turning a dial with the electronic shift-on-the-fly system, which lets you choose two four-wheel-drive modes (4x4 high or low), as well as two-wheel drive for travel on dry paved surfaces. And, the Terrain Management System has four selectable drive modes – Normal, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Ruts or Sand – which automatically calibrate engine responsiveness, transmission gearing and vehicle control systems to provide the optimum traction, drivability and performance. Trail Control is a driver-activated cruise control system that helps you navigate more easily over rough terrain. It manages throttle and braking at individual wheels while maintaining a constant speed, so you can focus attention on the thrill of steering over the demanding terrain. The Ranger connects you to more than just the road, with technology features including an 8-inch center touchscreen, dual LCD instrument cluster, voice-activated navigation, SYNC 3, two smart-charging USB ports, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, WI-FI hotspot, FordPass Connect app access, syncing with Amazon Alexa, a premium sound system and Apple Watch connectivity. You’ll also find a comprehensive suite of safety features such as blind spot information system with trailer coverage, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, lane keeping system, adaptive cruise control, rear view camera and auto high-beam headlamps.
